About Rebecca Brightly the LMP
Chicago area native, recent North Carolinian, and Seattleite of two years. I’ve been a massage therapist for 5 years, and I’m long-time member of the Active People club.

I ran hurdles for my high school track team. I spent a couple years in the Army. I’ve been a serious swing dancer for 7 years, and I’ve made it at least 2 weeks into the P90X program. (I was bicycle commuting and doing 20hr of bodywork a week on top of dancing, so you see why I stopped.)
Yup, I’ve also been out of shape and a little chubby. Most people can’t imagine me with 25 extra pounds, running out of breath walking up a flight of stairs. Eek!
Through the ups and downs, the injuries and frustrations, I’ve learned that the body doesn’t always cooperate.
Okay, sometimes it downright rebels, right?
Last year completed KMI Structural Integration training here in Seattle. It’s 500 hours of advanced training, effectively doubling my education. My Active People clients really love it.
I came in with general tension in my back and arms. Traveling and being at a computer all day takes its toll! After working with Rebecca, my tension has been relieved and overall I feel more aligned. It’s a subtle but noticeable difference that has led to me being more cognizant of my posture and how I care for myself.

The Official Stuff
I trained as a massage therapist at the Body Therapy Institute in Silk Hope, North Carolina in 2007. I primarily practice Structural Integration (certified in the KMI variety). I have 1200 hours of massage education. (For those who are curious, the state of Washington requires 500 hours of training.) I did my undergrad Studies at the University of Maryland.
My experience includes 2 years of working with numerous clients with TBI (traumatic brain injury) at various levels of functioning. Additionally, I’ve provided care for people with cancer, fibromyalgia, and a host of other conditions big and small.
I’m a 4-year member of the ABMP, Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals. LMP stands for Licensed Massage Practitioner. My license number is MA60159742. You can look up the credentials of other health providers here.
My Assistant
Did you know I have an awesome assistant helping me behind the scenes? Breanna Perry is the woman keeping me on top of things. She’s better at answering emails than me, and if you’re my client, you’ll probably hear from her before long.
Are you right for my work? Find out.
